The award-winning press went on to publish approximately 200 books in nearly 60 years, finally ceasing operation shortly after Baskin's death in 2000. The book is the catalogue of an exhibition in the Bridwell Library curated by Lisa Unger Baskin, containing an assessment of the work of the press by Colin Frankin, a bibliography of the books of the Gehenna Press by Hosea Baskin, and notes on the books by the printer, Leonard Baskin.
