There are 319 plates which are numbered and run in order throughout the text. This includes twenty four colour plates. Some of the plates are missing (8, 9, 30, 31, 123, 124, 125, 126, 129, 130, 143, 144, 221, 222, 223, 224, 295, 296, 313, 314, 315, 316), and plates 245, 246, 269 and 270 are present but do not run in order. Collated.With four pages of advertisements to the rear. No dust wrapper present. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is only some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly faded. Internally, firmly bound.
