The book was written by Ryutei Tanehiko II, also known as Ryutei Senka, a disciple of Ryutei Tanehiko I, who first adapted the original work into "Nise Murasaki Inaka Genji." The illustrations in the book were done by Baichourou Kunisada, also known as Utagawa Kunisada II. The book is a significant example of the ukiyo-e genre, blending literature and art into a cohesive form.
