Original printed wraps 17x24cm. 36pp Arabic text with 2 maps, 3 drawings, and 13 photos in b/w. Very good. Part of a series of papers issued jointly by the Geography Department of Kuwait University, and the Kuwait Geographical Society. Its Editorial Board included the University's Head of Geography Dr Abdullah Al-Ghunaim, and KGS President Ibrahim Al-Shatti. They published papers of direct interest to countries in the Arabian Gulf, as well as more general and widely applicable studies. These were either prepared in Kuwait, or translated from other sources usually by Geography Department staff with a new introduction. This paper was originally published in the Bulletin de la Societe Geographique d'Egypte, 1965, pp31-95. The author was Professor of Geography at UAE University. His research is based on trips in 1962 and 1963 funded by the Department of Geography at the University of Riyadh, and describes Saudi Arabia's diverse geography. The first trip took in Medina, Mt Uhud, Al-Aqul and the palm groves of Al-Ayyun, Abyar Ali, Yenbo, Qadr, Mecca, Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Taif, Turbah, Bisha, Abha and environs. The second was limited to the Hejaz, revisiting previous locations plus Zaima Oasis, Shaddah on the new road between Mecca and Taif, and the small island of Saad near Jeddah. The maps are of Hejaz and Asir. The photos and drawings show numerous landscapes and features. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 4649
