The artist and calligrapher Frederick Marns has numbered and signed this gorgeous Special Limited Edition, along with Sir David Attenborough and Lord Selborne. It is number 18 of only 150 copies, and is naturally a much sought after collector edition of Gilbert White's crowning achievement. This enchanting book has never been out of print since 1789, and the Gilbert White Museum wanted to celebrate this by issuing this slipcased edition. Frederick Marns excelled himself with the delicate drawings for this volume. Each contributor has signed the book at the relevant page. A truly outstanding heirloom edition that is worthy of its original. Issued in a buckram slipcase, the book itself has Quarter leather binding with gilt titling on the spine. In addition, there are many Thomas Bewick wood engravings. Superb and utterly collectable. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.
