7 1/4" x 9 3/4", olive paper-covered boards with illustrated plate to front board, unpaginated. First Edition. Printed at The Complete Press, West Norwood, England. Illustrated by WILLY POGANY. An extremely scarce title. This copy needs repair; because of its rarity, I have chosen to defer repair, though a higher price could be realized if I were to repair. This is an odd binding, with no pages as such but rather stiff cards folded to create 4 pages (with the inside set opening to a 2-page wide Pogany color illustration); the card is attached to others via a thin and narrow paper hinge 3/8" away from the actual gutter. Several of these hinges are either split or missing; however, they can be recreated with some TLC and expertise. Eight of these card 'signatures', as they are, creating eight wonderful Pogany gatefold illustrations. SEE ALL 4 PHOTOS ENLARGED, including a sample plate. Other condition issues include front hinge with narrow old tape repair, rear hinge about 1/3 split, a nice old illustrated Christmas gift tag (1" x 3") with cursive inscr. adhered to ffep, some occasional finger soiling to margins, boards rubbed and worn through at corners (rounded), some soiling and spots of staining, minor wear to front paste-on.
