‘The Glorious Wonder of Now; Poems in the Present Moment’ is Nicholas’ second book of poetry. Fuelled by his addiction to rhyme, the poems describe moments in his life which inspired him to put pencil to paper. Including an exceptional day visiting the Farne Islands, delighting in the Puffins and other remarkable seabirds. A poem of history and intrigue, meeting famous people in central London, and most brilliantly, a clever tale from Stratford-upon-Avon, which imagines a night out with a rather well known playwright. In ‘Cudgel Thy Brains’, Nicholas uses his skills with words to mastermind a splendid collaboration with Shakespeare himself! Conquering mighty castles in North Wales. Birdwatching trips on his bicycle in South Yorkshire. Imagining life as a medieval monk at Rievaulx Abbey. This impressive collection is a celebration of the wonders and unique beauty of each present moment.
