Inhaltsangabe: I wrote God Never Hurries A Memoir to tell the story of how my internal GPS (God Positioning System) guided me through dark times of abuse and my mother s Alzheimer s disease. It is a walk into the natural world, along with a wolf-like Shepherd/Husky named Bear, where I took heart-wrenching problems surrounding my aging parents care needs. There I found comfort, wisdom and a rusty old car buried upside down on the beach that put light on the roots of abuse. I found the courage to refuse the victim role, left the church of my birth at age 60, and now freely and joyfully walk an ecumenical path.
I learned I could question everything and became aware of the havoc inappropriate silence wreaks. I came to understand it was a lot easier to stay miserable than to make changes in my life. I found my voice, used it, and made forgiveness and reconciliation long-term goals. My search for truth will take you on numinous bike rides where my spirit soars, frogs talk, and my anger levels hills. Retreat with me into the desert where chaos and myth speak to me. Voyage into wilderness where my canoe paddle leaves imposed guilt. Fly across an ocean to where I hear the God within us singing. And spend a weekend in downtown Detroit where I get a grip on my complicity in my troubles. It was through my angst that I experienced a heightened awareness to everyday things that helped reorient me mentally, spiritually and psychologically.
Trauma becomes transformation, but not before I learn to dance in chains and trust in the slow work of God. God Never Hurries is an account of that awful and graced time.
