Quarter yellow cloth with gilt label, green decorative paper-covered sides with matching endpapers, top edge tinted. The spine has some scuff and soil. Slipcase is worn along the edges and corners. Book lable inside the front cover. Originally published in 1904 the title has been adapted to a radio opera (1937), a comic book series (1951) and a movie in 1959 starting Anthony Perkins and Audrey Hepburn. Other character adaption were done in the '70's by DC Comics in print and also animated film. "Green Mansions is a poignant meditation on the loss of wilderness, the dream of a return to nature and the bitter reality of the encounter between savage and civilized man.
