Martin. 1853, 11 x 8.5 , 8vo, hardcover 3/4 leather. In fair condition. Rubbing and wear to boards. Partial separation to binding at bottom of spine. Some cracking to hinges. Text block remains in bound well and in good condition. Includes a variety of black-and-white sketches of monuments, along with a frontispiece map of the cemetery. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A rather scarce piece concerning the early layout and monuments of Green-Wood Cemetery, a rural cemetery in Brooklyn that was constructed in 1838. The cemetery was and remains known for its greenery, rolling hills, and wide assortment of highly detailed individual monuments to many graves. A great piece for minor restoration.
