In Be Somebody, Lin Appling invites, encourages, and inspires his readers to dream and to plan, but he avoids the Â"pie-in-the-skyÂ" attitude of some motivational authors. By offering his own story as an example of our ability to beat the odds, Appling provides his readers with the twelve keys to success. Being born into a family of fourteen in a rural community in Georgia during segregation, Appling knows firsthand how tough it can be to rise to the top: attaining success requires discipline, commitment, and honest self-appraisal.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Lin Appling was born in Roberta, Georgia to a family of 14. Since his retirement from the army, Mr. Appling served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the late Governor Mel Carnahan and the Executive Deputy Secretary of State in the office of the Missouri Secretary of State.
