Inhaltsangabe: This beautifully written and illustrated children's book is the companion volume and sequel to A Gull's Story,; the beloved ABC picture book of the Jersey Shore. A Gull's Story, Part 2 teaches counting at the Shore, from 1 to 20, and revisits the Gull Family and Baby Gull (who now, a few years older, prefers to be called Little Gull ) and their adventures along the Jersey Coast. Children will love Little Gull's counting journey at the Shore where he learns not only to count but also of the natural wonders, creatures, and landmarks that make up his world along the coast. Thoughtfully written by acclaimed poet/author Frank Finale (author of A Gull's Story and To The Shore Once More, Volumes I & II) and once again exquisitely illustrated by children's book artist Margie Moore, this book will not only appeal to preschoolers learning their numbers but also to all children (through age 9) who want to learn about the Jersey Shore. The book includes a website where a comprehensive workbook for children and teachers can be downloaded for free. A Gull's Story, Part 2 is not only a children's book about the Jersey Shore but has been written and illustrated with a universal appeal for children wanting to learn about all coastlines. It will be enjoyed by children from all areas of the U.S. who want to learn about America's shores. Highly detailed and visually stunning, it is a book children, parents, and lovers of the Jersey Shore will use and treasure for years to come.

About the Author: Frank Finale has more than four hundred poems and essays published in more than one hundred different books, journals, and magazines. He is the author of the critically acclaimed, regional bestsellers To The Shore Once More, Volumes I and II and three beloved children s books, A Gull s Story, Parts 1-3. He has also co-edited two acclaimed poetry anthologies: Under A Gull s Wing and The Poets of New Jersey.

Frank is a graduate of Ohio State University and received a Master of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976. He taught elementary school for thirty-eight years in the Toms River Regional School District in New Jersey. During his time as an educator, he received numerous awards and was named to the State of New Jersey s Governor s Teacher Recognition Program.

Frank was one of the founding editors of the poetry journal Without Halos (1983-1995) and was poetry editor (1996-2012) of the new renaissance, an international, prize winning literary magazine of ideas and opinions, emphasizing literature and the arts.

Frank is a regular essayist for Jersey Shore Magazine and has been widely published in hundreds of magazines and journals including The Baltimore Review; Blue Unicorn; Chelsea; The Christian Science Monitor; The Georgia Review; Journal of New Jersey Poets; LIPS; Long Shot; The Long Story; Middlesex: A Literary Journal; Negative Capability; The New York Quarterly; The Paterson Literary Review; Poet Lore; and Sensations among others. His essay A Walk Along The Beach, appeared on the State of New York's Regents High School Examination in English (August 2010), and several of his poems have been nominated for Pushcart Press prizes.

His poems and essays have been anthologized in numerous books including A Celebration of Cats; A Loving Voice II: A Caregiver s Book of More Read-Aloud Stories For The Elderly; Anthology of Magazine Verse & Yearbook of American Poetry (various editions 1985-1997); The Best of Reminisce; Blood To Remember: American Poets On The Holocaust (first edition); Dear Winter; First Light: Poems, Stories And Essays of The Winter Holiday Season; Howl of Sorrow; Identity Lessons: Contemporary Writing About Learning To Be American; Italian American Writers On New Jersey; Life On The Line: Selections On Words & Healing; Movieworks; Palisades, Parkways & Pinelands; Peace Is Our Profession: Poems And Passages of War Protests; Shore Stories; Teaching Poetry In High School; Tree Magic; and Tree Stories: A Collection of Extraordinary Encounters among others.

Frank Finale regularly gives readings of his work throughout New Jersey. Born in 1942, he currently lives in Bayville at the Jersey Shore.
Margie Moore. When asked to illustrate a companion volume to "A Gull's Story," Margie Moore was happy to have another chance to revisit the natural and physical wonderment of the Jersey Shore that captivated her imagination as a child growing up in the seaside town of Belmar, New Jersey. Besides illustrating the "A Gull's Story" books, her endearing style of art has merited numerous other titles including "Bartholowmew's Blessing"; the "Ruby Raccoon 'I Can Read'" book series (all from HarperCollins Publishers); the "Little Brown Bear" books; and "Hillside Lullaby" (all from Dutton Children's Books). Margie and her husband live very near to where she grew up along the Jersey Shore.
