Cada volume inclui nas páginas finais uma explicação das respectivas gravuras. Colecção completa em 14 volumes que abarcam o século XIX, com contribuições de Barbosa Colen, Marques Gomes e Eduardo Gallis, autor dos dois últimos volumes dedicados ao Reinado de D. Carlos (1890-1908) com o subtítulo: Um Reinado Trágico. Obra muito importante para a difusão do conhecimento da História de Portugal por vastas camadas da população e extremamente notável por abarcar toda a história, desde a fundação da nacionalidade até ao fim do reinado de D. Each volume includes in the final pages an explanation of the respective prints. A complete collection in 14 volumes covering the 19th century, with contributions by Barbosa Colen, Marques Gomes and Eduardo Gallis, author of the last two volumes dedicated to the Reign of D. Carlos (1890-1908) with the subtitle ?Um reino trágico? [A Tragic Reign]. This work is very important for the knowledge of the History of Portugal to be spread among large sections of the population and it is extremely remarkable for covering the whole history, from the foundation of the nationality to the end of the reign of D.
