STANLEY, Arthur Penrhyn. HISTORICAL MEMORIALS OF CANTERBURY. New York: Anson D. F. Randolph & Co. [n.d. ca. 1890]. 361 pp. 8vo., purple and white cloth stamped in gilt. Frontispiece (illustration) plus 18 tipped-in plates, 13 of which are gelatin silver prints, the rest being b/w illustrations. All but two of the photographs (11 1/2 x 17 1/2 cm.), the folding plan, and illustrations are in excellent condition. One photo seems overexposed or faded ("The Crypt") and another ("The Cathedral, Exterior") has a small abrasion at the top. Ex-library with spine label, usual markings. Light soil and shelfwear to cloth, gilt lettering and cover vignette bright. T.e.g. Hinges cracked. A few pencil notes and some pencil underlining in a small portion of the text. Very good overall.
