nd. Dating this has proved difficult. Most catalogue entires for this volume published by Henry Lea date it as 1846. Yet Lea was only 17 in 1846 and did not start his publishing career until 1851. The title page describes the author, Samuel Lover, as "the late". He died in 1868. Lea's address is given on the title page as 13 Paternoster Row, from which he published between 1868 and 1869. Of course my information may be incorrect. 5 x 7½" pp. iv + 380 with 12 full-page steel engravings. Poor in original brown boardswith faded gilt decorated front and spine. Boards dirty and top ½" of spine missing. Untrimmed edges. Binding weak and shaken but intact. Text mostly clean although there is some foxing. No dustwrapper. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 000839
