Attractive, if annoying bibliographically cryptic, children's verse entirely in German showing all the things that youngster Hans can do: Baking, tinsmithing, cobbling, seamstressing, dog nursing, cooking, bookbinding, gardening, clockmaking, barbering, farming and babysitting. About every other page is not colored -- if intended as a coloring book, no crayon has ever touched its pages. Title translates as "What Hans Can Do!" Pencilled ownership signature on inner flyleaf of child owner from the famed German colony of West Amana, Iowa -- and dated 1928. which approximately dates this quaint production.
