Awakening. 1
I laugh, then I weep I frown, then smile Delirious perhaps Or morbidly morose.
My ego haunts me To an abyss it leads me I wish to ignore it It wants to imprison me. Naked is my soul The night swallowed me The dawn spat me The wind engulfed me To the heavens it carried me.
The saints smile The angels are delighted The gods embraced me For I betrayed my ego My soul finally found me.
The Phantom Shore

A lone sailor Braving the sea Riding the waves Challenging the wind.
The glistening sails Dance with the wind The boat gallops, heaves The sailor obeys. The forbidden shore Hopelessly sought A desperate illusion A morbid goal.
The sailor and his boat A shadow in the mist A dot on the horizon A moment in time. Too many shores Countless harbors Clouded memories Forgotten fantasies.
The sailor and his boat Hardly aware Of their insecure destination And unwelcome destiny. Lost hopes and many deceptions The shores and harbors Are no more than Shadows in the mist.
Many days and nights Glorious sunrises Mesmerizing sunsets Endless journeys. The desolate sailor The weaving boat No longer shadows in the mist Or dots on the horizon Abandoned by time and space Atoms in the infinite universe.
No more shores Much less harbors Nature and its wrath At man's greed and abuse A premature demise Of the planet Earth.
Wafa

My beautiful little angel My baby sister Lying in her cradle Calm, serene, motionless.
I am a young boy Sitting beside her Bemused by her beauty Engulfed by incredible emotions.
I look at her Big brown eyes But she seems to be Staring into a void.
I look at her Again and again Desperately waiting for Her to sense my presence. Suddenly her eyelids Seem to quiver My heart stops A moment frozen in time.
I place my trembling Fingers on her Tiny, frail hand Ice cold and blue. All of a sudden I felt something is amiss Wafa, please, my angel Please look at me Say you hear me.
Wafa did not respond I began to shout hysterically Hoping my mother Could hear me. My mother entered The austere, cold room Where Wafa and I Were still and lifeless.
My mother went To the cradle nervously Placed her hands On the hands Then chest of Wafa. An unbelievable shock Overcame her She wailed, shouted She wept and I cried.
Oh, my baby, oh, my God My little angel is dead My baby is dead Her hands shaking, As they rose to the sky. I did not know What death meant I did not know What God meant.
My agonizing mother Lifts Wafa from her cradle Desperately hoping for A miracle, a rebirth No miracle, no resurrection.
I still do not know what death meant, what God meant, What life meant.
Oh, Wafa, my angel The curtains to our souls Were folded and thrown My only solace is Someone told me: Angels do not die.
Night of Love

The dimly lit room Full of your presence Your heavenly essence Your angelic demeanor.
You come toward me And then hesitate You come toward me again We embrace, the Earth trembles The stars simmer, The Universe expands. Our unbelievable passions The sudden expectation of love Your transparent gown Glows, a virgin, a goddess of love.
The gentle evening breeze As if invited Enters the room Gently touches your hair Sways with your gown. I take you in my arms Our eyes meet Our lips melt We embrace the wind Surrender to the night And capitulate to love. Daydream

Shadows

Two souls, one we become As our shadow sways With the torquise water A splendid portrait of life The very essence of being.
We are alone on this lonely shore Majestic, magical, mystical Glistening white sands smiling Tantalizing the moon. Whispers of wondrous love Sighs of reverence, gentle embraces Our lips purse, our souls unite Tender loving sensations.
One we become, oblivious to the world Only aware of unbridled passions Passions for love, for life Our lives, our love. The gentle evening breeze Caresses the hesitant waves The full moon Embraces the shore Blesses our love, Guards our solitude.
The marvelous sunset The magical twilight Rainbows of mesmerizing colors Hugging the waiting horizon. The World sways With the heavenly harps The divine music of love.
We embrace, one we become Our magical moments Of eternal bliss Are frozen in time.
Encounter with the Clouds

I closed the book I was reading And let it rest on my lap The big jet was cruising effortlessly Toward its destination.
My fellow passengers were Busy with their consumption Of food and drinks, while others Were racing through newspapers and magazines.
I looked out the window At the splendor of the clear blue sky Below me were brilliant white clouds Of every shape and configuration. They resembled giant heaps of cotton Gliding gracefully like swans in The vivid maze and serenity of a Mesmerizing blue sky.
It's somehow amazing that these Giant mountains of clouds With their majesty and calmness Could later evolve into dark gray, Spewing their rage in a fit of lightning and thunder.
Later they evolve into Tiny vapors, and through this atmospheric change, Donate their infinite drops of rain to Nourish countless creatures and flora.
This natural process and its culmination Is very much like a musical score With its transcending crescendo and captive finale. These merciful...
