The Wisdom of Solomon is an inter-testamental book written in Egypt between 200 and 100 BCE for Jews being confronted by a pagan culture and secular environment conflicting with their spiritual teaching. In this book, Dr. King has provided a great service as he attempts to assist the reader in understanding the impact of this writing upon that ancient world. He offers a much needed discussion on understanding the Wisdom of Solomon in terms of that milieu as well as the early years of Christianity. This book will be a welcome resource for those involved in the teaching and study of this subject matter. In addition, the book will prove valuable to those who are seeking a better understanding of the relationship between Solomon's wisdomand the Jewish and Christian thought of the world both prior to and after the advent of Christianity.
