First edition. Two volumes, quarto (28 x 22.5cm). 'One of Coxe's most agreeable works, and may be ranked among the most elegant and interesting publications extant on British Topography.'- Allibone. Vol. I, pp.[12],viii,1*-31*208; Vol. II, pp.[xii],209-432,433*,[9]. Complete in text & in plate, of which there are a total of 109 maps, plans & views, some folding, some on the letterpress plus three pedigrees. Some occasional neat contemporary annotations to the letterpress, a few leaves with some light toning & the very occasional light mark, but otherwise a fresh copy. Bound in contemporary tree calf, gilt, the spines with twin labels. The first volume with small joint splits to upper & lower joints affecting the first panels, but the volume tight & sound. The boards corners slightly bumped, some natural offsetting from the leather paste-ins on the inner boards affecting the first three blank leaves at the front of each volume & the rear free endpapers, and the first title, but notwithstading these faults, a most handsome & presentable copy.
