Folio (360 x 230 mm) [xxviii] 195 (+28 appendix), + 519 + 646pp. Of the 9 maps and 24 plates this set lacks only Hedingham Castle and the scarce Audley End engraving (which is only called for in volume two, being added later). A couple of closed tears to folding plates. Very occasional foxing within. Tiny instance of worming to front matter of vol. I. Contents otherwise clean and binding tight. A stout set.
