First edition thus, originally published in 1962 as a high school text. This first Abrams edition has been revised for the general reader and is divided into four parts: How Art Began; the Middle Ages; the Renaissance; and the Modern World. Previous owner's first name neatly written on upper front free end-paper. Mild shelf-wear (soiling) to white rear dust-jacket panel. Book is clean, tight, and unmarked (but for name).
