A complete set of 5 volumes in fairly presentable condition, with the front board of Vol. 1 completely loose (but present), but other bindings largely intact with a few small repairs to the title labels on Vols. 1 and 4. Some mild rubbing to the marbled paper covers on all 5 volumes, from general handling and storage. Gilt titles and bands on leather spines remain largely intact and presentable except for the repairs mentioned above, plus some general rubbing and edge wear at the ends, again from normal handling and shelving. Contents of all 5 volumes are fairly well-presented, with some mild browning and thumb-marking around the outer page edges and some spots encroaching onto the endpapers and title pages, but seemingly barely read with no major internal marks, creases or tears throughout. Top inch of the title page of Vol. 1 has been trimmed by a previous owner, presumably to remove an inscription, not losing any printed content.
