Hardcover. This is Vol. I only of a three volume set. The book is quarterbound in brown leather with grayish-green patterned paper, along with gilt titles and non-raised gilt bands on the spine. There is some edge and corner wear, but rather light overall. There is a half-dollar-sized bit of paper loss on the front and a scuff about halfway down near the spine. The front and rear endpapers are made of a lighter, almost tissue paper stock and they have had some bunching through the years that has caused creases. The rear hinge has been re-glued at some point and there may be a the loss of an endpaper, though the two tissue endpapers are present. A former owner's name is on the front pastedown. The color foldout map of England is present. Overall, this volume is in G+ to VG- condition. It would be a solid VG if not for the re-gueing. Very nice, still attractive volum of this oversized set of Hume's History. ; Vol. II only; B&W Plates of Engravings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 800 pages. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 15460
