Large post8vo, elaborate engraved title showing William crossing the Boyne, xii, engraved portrait of Earl of Charlemont, engraved portrait of Henry Grattan, 524 p. Fine double folding Tomlinson engraving of Dublin with Liffey in the foreground and the Four Courts across the river. Contemporary brown polished calf, lighter brown inlaid panels, elaborate gilt decoration, 4 broad raised bands, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Lacks lettering pieces, small areas of gilt missing and staining around edges of the portrait otherwise a tight clean volume alas lacking vol. 1; however the clean and crisp Dublin plate is probably worth the price even though it would be a shame to destroy the unusual binding.
