A few small spots across front cover reveal similar uneven chipping away of cloth. Light scuffs across covers indicate shelf wear. Title page dated 1874. No date on copyright page. x + 768 pages. Includes frontispiece depicting map of Rome, index, black and white illustrations throughout text. Former owner's name written neatly in pencil at top right corner of one of several blank pages following front free endpaper. Pages otherwise clean and bright.
