VG, 4th ed, 1774. In basket weave calf, gilt edge tooling, corners rubbed. Re-spined, original laid down, raised bands, gilt tooling & titles. Internally, [42], (i-xlii), [1], 2-396 pp, [16] table, 1 woodcut to titlepage which is in red & black inks, lacks the folding plate, gilt tooling to board edges & turn-ins, red marbled endpapers, text block edges marbled blue. WYNNE, historian, whilst at Oxford, was one of the circle of Edward Lhuyd (q.v.). In 1697, he published a History of Wales - really a working-over of the Historie of Cambria (1584) of David Powel (q.v.); it was reprinted (unaltered) in 1702, again (with some changes) in 1774 and 1812, and finally in 1832 (with topographical notes by Richard Llwyd of Llannerch Brochwel ).
