Very Good+ Condition of a nice leather pocket bible from 1864 printed by the American Bible Society (instituted in 1816). Dark brown leather with a leather buckle; the edge is scalloped. Leather has some very light wear, but in excellent condition. Hinges are intact and the binding is solid. The edges of the text block are gilt and have some fading and some defects. Peach color end papers, the back end paper has some very minor peeling off the back cover. Previous owner's name on the front free end paper "Henry Hall Bradley, from his friend A. E. L Hillsdale, Feb. 9, 1866" In addition to this there is a letter that accompanies the bible from Amos E. Lawrence to Mr. Bradley gifting him the book. ; 24mo 5" - 6" tall; 194 pages.
