"A Complete Guide in all the various Methods by which to Capture all kinds of Game, Fur Animals, &c. Also, Full Directions how to Cure and Tan all Kinds of Skins, &c., &c. Together with Numerous Arts, Secrets, and much other Valuable and Interesting Reading Matter not to be obtained elsewhere." There are 58 numbered pages followed by 14 pages of advertisements; there are advertisements on the inside-covers and on the back cover. Interesting articles include "The Birch Canoe," "Poisoning," "Baiting Animals," "Steel Traps," "The Fox," "The Bear," "The Wolf," "How to Cure Skins," "The Profits of Trapping," "Fishing in the Winter," "Chinese Art of Catching Fish," "Head Waters of the Penobscot (River)," "A Young Trapper's Experience," "Dressing and Tanning," "Dyeing Hides".and much more. The book is smaller in size - it measures 5 7/8" tall x 3 7/8" wide. Condition: There are some small, light stains on the covers. Small tear at the lower-outer corner of the front cover. Creases at the cover corners, and at the lower-outer corners of the first few pages. Nice interior with only some occasional light foxing to the pages (though a bit heavier on the title page); the last advertisement page at the back is tanned.
