Ms. Steel, who lived long and wrote often on India, comments on history of Rajputs and Moghuls, India's many religions, arts and crafts, architecture, status of women, and the mutiny of 1857 among other topics. Very readable, with an understandable colonial bias in the eyes of the reader a Century later. Inside, clean and tight, with a hint of foxing that does not affect the plates.
