This book sheds new light on the place of the individual in the Orthodox tradition and theology, its relationship to the community, the communal understanding of the church and the theology of personhood. Furthermore, it discusses issuesrelated to this problématique, such as the weak position of civil society in predominantly Orthodox countries or the question of pluralism and human rights. Pantelis Kalaitzidis, Dr., is Director of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies in Volos (Greece), and Visiting Professor or Visiting Scholar at several American and European Universities.
