Inhaltsangabe: This is a long distance (84 miles/135 km), 6-day circular walk through the Peak District via 53 traditional country pubs. It includes information on history, geography, places of interest, traditional inns, routes & maps. This is the Book 6 in "The Inn Way..." series of walking guidebooks from the award-winning publisher of the "Walking Weekends..." books. "The Inn the Peak District" is presented by Mark Reid. It covers 84 miles, 6 days, through 53 pubs...After 2 years of research, walking over 600 miles of footpaths and visiting around 100 pubs "The Inn the Peak District" is published in May 2007. Mark Reid's latest guidebook charts a six-day circular walk throughout the heart of the Peak District, covering some 84 miles and passing 53 great country pubs along the way. This new long distance circular walking route takes in the very best of the Peak District from the wilds of Kinder Scout to the dramatic Eastern Edges, gentle pastoral landscape of Chatsworth and the beautiful limestone dales of the White Peak. Starting and finishing at Hayfield, Stage One of this new walking route skirts around Kinder Scout then heads through the Woodlands Valley to Hathersage. Stage Two traces the Eastern Edges southwards high above the Derwent Valley to reach Baslow. Stage Three is gentler, with a stroll through Chatsworth Park then across the mystical landscape of Stanton Moor to Youlgrave. Stage Four heads up through the beautiful limestone valleys of the White Peak to Tideswell. Stage Five explores Eyam before heading over to Castleton. Stage Six traverses the famous Great Ridge over to Edale and then follows the packhorse route back to Hayfield.

About the Author: Mark Reid is the author of 'The Inn Way' series, which chart long distance circular walks throughout England's North Country, as well as the pioneering 'Walking Weekends' series of guidebooks. He also writes regular articles concerning the outdoors for several newspapers and magazines including Country Walking magazine, Yorkshire Post, Northern Echo and Dalesman.
