Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Bryan Kolb Bryan Kolb received his Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University and con-ducted postdoctoral work at the University of Western Ontario and the Montreal Neurological Institute. In 1976, he moved to the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, where he is a professor of neuroscience. His current research examines how pre-conception and perinatal factors ― including tactile stimulation, psychoactive drugs, stress, noise, and injury ― modify the developing cerebral cortex and how these changes are related to behavior. Kolb is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada; the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA); the Canadian Society for Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Science (CSBBCS); the American Psychological Associa-tion; and the Association of Psychological Science. Currently a fellow of the Child Brain Development program of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, he is a recipient of the Hebb Prize from the CPA and CSBBCS. He has received honor-ary doctorates from the University of British Columbia, Thompson Rivers Univer-sity, Concordia University, and the University of Lethbridge. He is a recipient of the Ingrid Speaker Gold Medal for research, the distinguished teaching medal from the University of Lethbridge, and the Key to the City of Lethbridge. In 2017, he was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada. He and his wife train and show horses in Western riding performance events.
