Scattering is the process where particles coming from a distance long enough to neglect their interactions get near enough to each other for feeling a force modifying their trajectories. In classical mechanics, the goal of a scattering theory is to determine the final trajectories of particles from their initial ones. Assuming only a knowledge of basic wave mechanics, this book presents a self-contained, unified development of the quantum theory of scattering physics. The Schroedinger wave fucntion is discussed; Green's function and integral equation techniques treated; the abstract operator formalism developed and applied.
