Jack of Eagles is a book about a young man who suddenly becomes aware of his psychic abilities, and the absolute madness that follows. It's a very fun book, though admittedly it drags in the last act, and goes a little over the moon. That said, it's a fine edition of the classic work by James Blish. This is the 2nd edition of "ESPer" by James Blish, the first edition of "Jack of Eagles", a different name for the same novel. It is the third printing of that novel, and it was printed in 1968.
