Über den Autor: William A. Simmons, Professor of New Testament Studies and Greek at Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee, earned his Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in 1990. At Lee, he received the ?Excellence in Scholarship Award? in 1994. His specialty is New Testament exegesis with a concentration in the Pauline epistles and Koine Greek. In addition to his undergraduate classes, Dr. Simmons also teaches on the graduate level. In this capacity he lectures on biblical hermeneutics, studies in Jewish and Greco-Roman groups of the first-century, and advanced Pauline studies. He has presented papers at the Society of Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society for Pentecostal Studies. His published works include Peoples of the New Testament World: an Illustrated Guide; A Concise Background of the New Testament (Together with Glossary and Annotated Bibliography); Paul and Jesus: A Theology of Inclusion; New Testament Survey, and a commentary on Galatians. Simmons has also published several articles in the Evangelical Dictionary of New Testament Theology and the Lexham Project for Logos Bible Software. He has also done teaching and mission work at the European Bible Seminary in Rudersburg, Germany. He has taught in other countries such as Korea, Honduras, the Philippines, Guatemala, Scotland, Cuba and Peru. Dr. Simmons enjoys reading the biographies of world leaders and also works dedicated to early American history. He likes to teach in cross-cultural settings and his hobbies include outdoor sports, landscaping and woodworking. He resides in Cleveland, Tennessee with his wife Lenae, and his three children: David, Nathaniel, and Laura.
