43 text pages in French. 24 Handcolored lithographs of Jacob Lehnert (French, 19th century). 24 - 10" x 6 1/2" full page beautiful handcolored lithographic plates of 68 animal species, with French captions generally in VG condition. Published circa between 1850 and 1880. Lithography by Ch. Fernique, Paris. Front cover is also a handcolored lithograph depicting 5 different animal species. Cover is soiled and well worn, title page has a tear, worn at edges and is taped to front cover, free front endpaper missing. Front pastedown is covered with colored postcards.
