Octavo. Dark brown cloth covered boards and spine with a bright red letterbox and shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Book has light bumping at the head and tail of the spine with light accompanying rubbing. Just a trace of rubbing at the very tips of the outside corners. White endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate on the free front endpaper. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 358 pages. Dust Jacket - has a fair amount of rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the tips of the four outside corners. Small chip in the tip of each of the outside corners and in the corners of the spine. 1 1/2" closed tear in the lower edge of the rear cover right next to the tail of the spine and a 1" closed tear in the upper edge that runs in from the rear corner of the head of the spine. Fair amount of evidence of handling over time on the white portions of the jacket. Semi-circular mark on the front cover just next to the image of Bridger on his horse.
