Second edition, corrected and enlarged, to which is added "An Appendix on France" written in December, 1815 ad October, 1816. Half leather (tan) with marbled boards. Hinges worn but sound. Lettering on spine is legible. Overall rubbing and wear. Text is very good. Includes index to set. By birth a Frenchman, Simond emigrated before the Revolution in his native land to the United States, where he became a successful New York merchant. In 1810-11 he made a tour of Great Britain, where he encountered De Quincey, Wordsworth, and others, recording his impressions in a journal written originally in English and published anonymously by a "French traveler" in 1815.
