"WHY"

Tell me why is the sky blue?
Tell me why do we behave the way we do?
Do we really think, feel, and act?
Or do we say, respond, and react?
Tell me why is it hard to say what we mean?
Tell me why do we always say we mean what we say?
Is it really a matter of reading between the lines?
Or are the lines that we read those which we create?
Tell me why is it difficult to say the four letter
word that begins with L and ends with E?
Tell me why do we and it so hard to love and easy to hate?
Is it a matter of birth or central location?
Or is it really a condition of the heart?
Tell me why is it really so hard to get
in touch with our emotions?
Tell me why is it really so hard to feel
like we are really human?
Is it because we've been conditioned
to respond on impulse?
Or is it because we've been taught to hide what we feel?

Tell me why can't I see the sun through that silver lining?
And tell me why is my heart the one
that always needs refining?
Is it because we fear what we do not know?
Or is it because we see something that will
make your affection for one another grow?
Tell me, please, why is it okay for us
to hope, wish, and dream?
And tell me, please, why isn't it so easy to
create, conquer, and command these?
Is it because we lack the desire that drives?
Or is it because we have no real goal that we have realized?
Tell me, why, then, do we confuse what we
would be with what we could be?
And tell me why, then, do we always separate
what we plan to be with what we desire to be?
Is it because we take failure as mere defeat?
Or is it because we regard as defeat that
which we have never tried?
Tell me why do we always feel that true
success must come at a price?
And why do we always regard things
in terms of winners and losers?

Is it because we have not come to know
the real meaning of success?
Or is it because we know not of where success stems?
Tell me, please, why, if we are truly
intelligent, what makes us unique?
Tell me, please, why, if we are driven by
shear will, what makes us think?
It is:
Desire
Diligence
Drive
Dignity
Divinity
Motivation
Money
Willpower
Wisdom
Compassion
Caring
Intelligence
Hopes
Dreams
Aspirations
Goals
Family
Friends
Peoples
Places
Things
Beings
Beliefs
Vigilance
And, of course,
Persistence.
Which, when I ask why, in some way, shape, or
form, equals the diamond in the rough,
The pearl amidst the oyster,
The ruby on the road,
And the shining star up in the sky.
When, when I ask why, brings forth the final question:
If you haven't set out on the path that will make
you unique and drive you by shear will, WHY?


"FIND A WAY"

When all are saying it can't be done,
And when fear seems to grip you all around,
If there's something you long to see your way,
You'll gladly find a way.

When the one you care for seems miles away,
And when you need to close that empty heart,
You'll brace yourself for now and always,
Because you know you will always find a way.

If ever in life we should meet again,
And if ever we fall in love once more,
Then you will see what I'm telling you,
And then you will find a way.


"TO GO"

When now we've come to this great point in time,
When now we must decide what will be,
To go is all that is sure.

To go the way that the wind may carry us,
To go with the tide of the waves.
As we carry each other on this journey of life,
We must never forget where we are.

To go here is sudden,
To go there is grand,
But to go is the phrase we understand.

We must count the moments,
These moments we share,
And we must never stay trapped where we lie,
We must dare to go,
To go anywhere and do anything,
Just to go is the prime thing,
To go.


"FOREVER"

Forever is a term that some can't understand.
Forever is an expression used when speaking
of a bond between woman and man.
Forever is what I feel when I gaze into your eyes,
It's the feeling of everlasting grace
even when we say goodbye.
No matter what the distance between us,
No matter how far we must go,
Forever is my love for you that will forever grow.

When I stare into the sunset,
And I watch the sun's warm descending embrace,
I think of how out of sight you may be,
And remember how you will never
be out of mind or erased.

When I look at the ring that proclaims our love,
When I think of those marriage vows,
When I realize what is meant by better or worse,
When I meditate on the sickness and health,
I remain fixed upon a healthy seven letter word.
A word that guides all of our ways.

Whether we be here or there,
Whether it be then or now,
Whether we be high or low,
The term, expression, and feeling for
you will remain forever!
