Beschreibung
An early edition of the infamous political 'Letters of Junius' bound in full calf over two volumes. Two volumes, complete set.The later undated reissue with the table of contents and an index. First published in 'The Public Adviser', a London Newspaper ran by Henry Sampson Woodfall, and then published by Woodfall in book form in 1772, with this undated version being printed after in the same year.Bound in full calf.An interesting collection of private and openly published letters that criticised the Hanoverian government under King George III. Written anonymously by an individual who referred to himself only as 'Junius'. Some have claimed Junius to be British politician and pamphleteer, Philip Francis, though his identity has never been officially confirmed.Undated. Dated by copies held on the Internet archive. Bound in full calf. Externally smart with fading to the spines, rubbing to the joints with front joint starting and slight loss to the leather to the head of the spine to 'Volume One', bumping to the extremities of the boards and the odd slight mark to the boards. Bookplates to the front endpapers belonging to 'Josceline Grove' and another, with front hinge starting to 'Volume One'. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned and generally clean pages with light spotting to the blanks to 'Volume One'. Past owner's ink inscriptions dated 1847 and 1947 to the front blanks. Very Good. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 897Z29
