This copy with interesting cross generational associations in that the title page bears the contemporary signature in pen of 'Lucy Anne Goff', while an inscription on a front blank, placed and dated 'Glenvar 1861', reads 'Elizabeth Barrington from her aunt L A Goff for the use of her children'. The front free end-paper has been removed to facilitate this later inscription. Elizabeth Barrington (n�e Pim) was the wife of the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Sir John Barrington. The folding map has a number of small tears (some repaired), but with no loss. very slight rubbing to extremities otherwise a very good copy of the uncommon 9th edition.
