Book size - c. 10.5 x 7 inches, pp. fold-out map + xviii + 832 +52 (adverts), hardback. Book condition - Good ; preliminaries somewhat soiled/dusty, some minor foxing, the first few pages with chipped edges which have been neatly repaired with strips of closely matching paper, map somewhat creased with a c. 17 cm tear which has been repaired on the back with Japanese paper, inner hinges reinforced with strips of white Jaconette cloth, binding firm ; original red cloth on the front and back boards with the usual blind decoration and the Royal crest in gilt , spine re-backed with red cloth and paper title label ; c orners with slight loss but not bent and remaining firm , boards' edge quite soiled but in good condition, back cloth is in good condition but is somwhat soiled and showing patches of light stains with resultant colour loss, back hinge sound, replacement spine complete and clean with head and tail just a tad creased, front hinge sound, front cloth again quite soiled around the edges and with a few minor stains, the central gilt crest is complete and only a little dulled. Please see photos for indications of condition and contents. A defective but sound copy of a rare early issue.
