8vo. 4.75 x 7.25 inches. iv + 248 pp. + 8 pp index. Contemporary calf with spine in compartments and contrasting maroon title label, gilt. Extremities worn and hinges beginning to crack. Some foxing and ink stains largely confined to end of volume. Illustrated with 3 folding copper engraved strip road maps. Published anonymously but known to be by Thomas Fisher (d. 1786). The scarce second edition, published in response to the growing numbers of tourists making their way to the Isle of Thanet to indulge in the new fad, 'Sea bathing'.
