An attractive well-kept copy. Clean, tightly bound pages with the exception of front illustration gutter which has cracked for most of its length. Hinges are excellent and the book is snug and square. Covers are remarkably bright and fresh for their vintage with a crisp checked texture. Dark brown lettering is clear and strong. Front cover and spine panel have faint dot-sized light soil spots, with some light foxing to top ends. Corner tips lightly rubbed. Attractive bookplate to pastedown. Illustrated with more than a dozen full page photos. Subtitle reads: Current comment, tales and travel stories of the Philppine Islands, with a review of General Leonard Wood's Administration as Governor General of this Territory." Scarce.
