The founder of How To Be A Kid(TM), Dr. Crystal T. Miller, PT, DPT, has been practicing as a Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2008 and is an expert in human movement. She has worked across more than a dozen school districts, children's hospitals, and rehabilitation settings, as well as with Broadway performers, professional athletes, and dancers-both in the US and overseas. Much of her expertise lies in making the body and mind central to the human experience, and she brings this perspective to education through her program and her book, Kid MAGIC Unlocked. Dr. Miller is a speaker who runs professional development workshops for teachers and parents, equipping them with strategies to integrate movement, sensory experiences, and emotional connection into the classroom in ways that align with child development. She has served on an elementary school Social-Emotional Learning committee, collaborated with school districts to develop whole-child approaches to learning, and draws inspiration from her unique collegiate background in the Delta College Program, where "real life learning" was the focus. Beyond her professional expertise, Crystal is a dreamer and out-of-the-box thinker who loves creativity as much as science. At just 4'11", this former gymnast can still walk on her hands. She's a coffee enthusiast (especially when it involves a fancy coffee shop or her own creative concoctions) and has a soft spot for sea turtles and never loses sight of the power of imagination-even the smallest Figment of it. She also loves adventuring, paddleboarding, and reading and proudly claims her place as a true Hufflepuff. Her greatest inspiration comes from her three children and her supportive husband and family. Crystal is dedicated to bridging the gap between child development and meaningful learning, transforming education into a kid-centric approach that celebrates the creativity, curiosity, and MAGIC in every child.
