A collection of more than 1000 photographs of the quintessential human act—the kiss—a lavish gift book for lovers everywhere A kiss is a language unto itself—hence the powerful emotions readers will feel after viewing the photographs in Kiss Kiss. An integral theme throughout Patrick McMullan’s long photographic career, his approach is that of a meticulous and ingenious explorer chronicling kisses of all kinds for more than three decades: a kiss stolen backstage at the height of the frenzy of a fashion show; a meet and greet “air kiss” between two grand dames of society; a late-night fleeting moment of passionate intensity; or a gentle kiss on the cheek between old friends—all are documented in Patrick’s inimitable style. As a kiss in itself is impartial to celebrity status, so is Kiss Kiss. There are photographs of famous actors, well known New York society figures, and wonderful New York characters that tell the story of relationships on a variety of emotional levels. A kiss comes in many forms—among family, friends, lovers, and rivals—all of which are chronicled in this lavishly illustrated gift book. Kiss Kiss takes the viewer on an intimate guided tour of all walks of society captured in a way that only Patrick McMullan can—as a welcome friend, not an intruding paparazzo.
