In good condition. Boards are lightly worn with minimal scuffing, edge wear. Slightly rounded corners. Light dryness to bottom spine extreme. Gilt finishing remains bright and clean. A few scratch marks to surface of cloth. Interior lightly toned. Free of markings. A few colored plates are beginning to peel up, but otherwise clean and bright. Free of markings. Binding tight and intact. A solid copy! Please see photos. L'Illustration was a weekly French newspaper published in Paris from 1843 to 1944. It was founded by Édouard Charton with the first issue published on 4 March 1843, it became the first illustrated magazine in France then, after 1906, the first in the world, distributed in 150 countries.
