Outer hinges starting, inner hinges cracked, minor worming, ink name on title page (Mary Bond), light creasing to a few corners else very good condition. Textblock tight. Continuously paginated: Volume I: 1-146, Volume II 147-310. Frontis of the author is after a portrait painted of him by Thomas Gainsborough. Charles Ignatius Sancho, c. 1729-1780, born on a slave ship, was a British abolitionist, a businessman, composer and art critic. He owned enough property that he could vote making him the first person of African ancestry in England to have voted in a general election.
