[4]pp., on a folded folio sheet, including one photographic illustration. Light edge wear. Near fine. An extremely scarce pamphlet published by America's oldest Zionist organization. Accompanied by an illustration of the Liberty Bell, the pamphlet reprints quotes and excerpts from the writings of Justice Louis Brandeis: "Written more than a quarter of a century ago, the message of Mr. Brandeis is just as timely and meaningful as though it were written today." Brandeis (1856-1941) was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939 and had died when this undated pamphlet was issued. The text refers to World War Two in the present tense, and so we date publication to circa 1943, roughly five years before the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. In addition to his long and impactful tenure on the Supreme Court, Brandeis is known for coining the phrase "right to privacy," his passionate efforts for the Zionist movement, and his namesake University. Founded in 1897, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) was the first Zionist organization in the United States and reached its peak membership in 1939, bolstered by Brandeis' rhetoric and support for the movement from about 1912 forward. This pamphlet is quite hard to find: OCLC records only two copies of a pamphlet beginning with the same caption title, although it is listed as having only two pages instead of four; no four page version is recorded. OCLC 236091221. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers WRCAM57487
