8vo. Fourth edition. 35 pp. with colour frontispiece and 24 b/w photo illustrations and one outline drawing of a Manning Wardle locomotive, with plans, tables and drawings to the text. Original cloth-backed pictorial boards. A very good copy. Originally published in 1936, the book ran to three pre-war editions, such was the interest. That interest persisted, and has done so to this day, and this first post-war edition was published in 1949. For a small volume it contains a wealth of information.
